Patriotic & Civic Celebrations


The City of Inverness takes pride in supporting events that recognize and celebrate the reasons for our freedom, as well as nationally observed days that encourage environmental action.

Flag Day-June 14th of each year, celebrates the anniversary of the adoption of the US flag in the year of 1777.

Patriotic Evening, celebrated on July 3rd, is Independence Day Inverness style, with patriotic tributes, fireworks and more.

9/11 Memorial & Freedom Walk, observed on September 11th and in recognition of the attacks on American soil in 2001.

Veteran's Day Parade, held each year on November 11th, veteran groups proudly parade down the main streets of Inverness. 

Recognition of Arbor Day is observed in the spring with the planting of tree(s) in city parks or other common areas viewable to the public.  The City of Inverness has received the Tree City USA designation for since 1996.

Earth Day is observed with a spring event providing local clean up with support from residents.
