Inverness Founders Day Centennial Celebration

Saturday, September 14, 2019

Step back in time to 1919 as the Old Courthouse Square is transformed into village with merchants, cowboys, miners, carpetbaggers and pioneers.

The Inverness Founders Day event features a curated exhibit at the Old Courthouse Heritage Museum and video recollections at the Valerie Theatre with long-time residents sharing their memories of a bygone era. The Courthouse Square will buzz with old-timey merchants, period entertainment and costumed characters. The opening ceremony starts at 9:30 a.m. Following the opening, is the reenactment of “the Night the Court House was Stolen” by the Citrus County Historical Society.
