Inverness, Fla., (April 13, 2017) On April 4, 2017, Dorothy Pernu of Duke Energy presented The Inverness Event & Visitor Bureau with a check for $7,500 for an annual event partnership. This donation supports year-round calendar of festivals and events that draw thousands to the City’s parks, lakes and its historic downtown district.
Additionally, Duke Energy looks forward to co-hosting the “Friday Night Thunder Goes Green” on April 21, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. in downtown Inverness. Duke staff will be on hand with environmental education materials, and 100 plants to giveaway to the first one-hundred to visit the Duke tent. This special Friday Night Thunder celebrates Arbor Day with a tree planting ceremony at 6 p.m. at the Old Courthouse in downtown Inverness. There will be live music by Groove 41, and over 100 classic cars. This event is free and open to the public. Questions? (352) 341-7820.
