City announces updated road opening and closure in downtown
Inverness, FLA – Downtown Inverness roads are in the process of major renovations to include paving, landscaping, lighting and striping. This new release updates the new release sent earlier today.
All sections of Dampier Street are set for completion by Friday, January 17, 2020 (new date). Most sections of Dampier Street have re-opened to include intersections of Apopka Ave. and Dampier Street. The intersection of MLK and Dampier will remain open and are not a part of this project.
The second phase of this road project is set to start Monday, January 13, 2020 encompassing Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave. from US Hwy 41/44 to just north of East Main Street. This closure will still allow for local traffic to access the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office and county parking lots. There are no closures planned beyond the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. and E. Main Street. This section is set for completion in approximately 60 days.
