The boat ramp provides access to Little and Big Lake Henderson and the Tsala Apopka Lake chain. It's most suitable for smaller watercraft, including kayaks and canoes.  Larger vessels will find the Wayside Park facility to better suit their needs.

Picnic tables and a grill are available at the North Apopka boat ramp, providing a quieter spot for a lunch. There is limited parking for vehicles and boat trailers.  The ramp is within walking distance of Liberty Park, Wallace Brooks Park and numerous shops and restaurants downtown.

The ramp is one of two in City limits; the second is off State Road 44 East across from the Wayside Park.
