Every year the City of Inverness prepares a budget explaining where and how the city's funds are appropriated and presents it to the City Council. The budget is based on a fiscal year, which runs from October 1st through September 30th.
Public hearings are held to discuss the expenditures and the public is encouraged to come. The budget does not become effective until all public hearings are completed and the City Council has approved the budget.
